Every month, we’ll be spotlighting someone from the LERETA roster. This month, get to know Lisa, Vice President, Tax Payment Manager!
1. What is your role with LERETA? I collaborate with the Dallas team to identify opportunities for process optimization and enhance operational efficiency. I focus on improving internal controls to mitigate risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This involves evaluating current workflows, implementing best practices and partnering cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives that support both quality and performance objectives.
2. How long have you worked with LERETA? I started with LERETA in December of 2024.
3. What is your favorite thing about working at LERETA? What I appreciate most about working at LERETA is the strong culture of collaboration and the organization’s dedication to continuous improvement. Being part of a team that embraces innovation and actively seeks to enhance processes and mitigate risk is both fulfilling and inspiring. I value the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while working alongside professionals who are equally committed to excellence and operational integrity.
4. Tell us about your family. I’m incredibly proud of my three children. My son Miles is a graduating senior at SMU, majoring in Computer Science. My daughter Kennedy is also at SMU—she’s a junior studying Accounting and is a member of the university’s cheer team. My youngest, Madison, is a high school sophomore with a creative spirit; she recently had the unique opportunity to participate in a podcast episode for This American Life. Watching each of them pursue their passions and grow into their own has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
5. What do you like to do in your free time? Outside of being a full-time mom, I’ve recently begun pursuing a Doctoral degree in Business Administration. It’s an exciting new chapter that allows me to explore topics I’m passionate about—particularly leadership, innovation, and organizational development. Balancing family and academic life keeps me engaged and constantly learning, which I truly enjoy.
6. Where did you grow up? I grew up in Longview, Texas, and I’ve always appreciated the small-town feel and strong sense of community it offered. It was the kind of place where neighbors knew each other, and that close-knit environment really shaped my values. I now live in Frisco, Texas, which I love for its vibrant growth, family-friendly atmosphere and access to great schools and opportunities.
