–Partnership with Operation Homefront Supports Permanent Homes for Veterans Program–

Pomona, Calif., June 25, 2025 – LERETA, a leading national provider of real estate tax and flood services for mortgage servicers, today announced it has expanded its LERETA Tax Grants program with grants awarded to the first two of eight families who will receive grants this year. Launched in 2023 in partnership with Operation Homefront, the LERETA Tax Grants program awards grants to help pay the annual property taxes of veteran families who have successfully completed  Operation Homefront’s Permanent Homes for Veterans (PHV) program. Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families with programs that help them overcome short-term difficulties, so they don’t become long-term hardships.

PHV provides veterans with the opportunity to receive a donated, mortgage-free home after the successful completion of a two-year homeownership and financial management program.

The first two tax grant recipients for 2025 include Army Specialist Keisha Dorsey of Hockley, Texas, and Army Sergeant Jeremy Carey of Hope Mills, N.C. Dorsey served two years in the Army before receiving a medical discharge in 2003. A single mother, she and her two sons moved into their PHV home in 2022, and she completed the program in June of 2024, receiving permanent ownership of the home. Carey served 13 years in the Army, retiring in 2018 after being deployed to Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. In 2019, he and his wife and two children moved into their PHV home and completed the program in 2021 to receive the deed to their mortgage-free home.

According to LERETA CEO Katie Brewer, “The tax grants are an opportunity to honor these veterans for their sacrifice to our country, but also for their dedication in becoming responsible and successful homeowners. They’ve demonstrated enormous commitment to our country and we’re delighted to lend a helping hand and say thank you with financial grants to support their homeownership journey.”

Since Operation Homefront’s program began in 2012, more than 690 veterans have successfully graduated and received a mortgage-free home.

“Having a home of their own brings the American dream to life for the military families who graduate from our Permanent Homes for Veterans program,” said retired Rear Adm.  Alan Reyes, President and CEO of Operation Homefront. “We are incredibly grateful to LERETA for providing tax grants, which will relieve military families of this significant annual expense and help to ensure a strong, stable, and secure future.”
